FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The Answers You Need

WHAT IS YOUR RETURN/REFUND POLICY?

We file our BOC-3 form with the FMCSA on the same day we receive your order, which means we have already provided our primary service for you. However, if you feel you have ordered our service in error and have already purchased process agents through another source, we will refund your payment minus a $15.00 handling fee.

WHAT IS A PROCESS AGENT?

A process agent is someone to accept legal documents for a company.  Trucking companies are required to have a process agent in each state in which they have authority to operate.  The FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) requires a list of these process agents to be filed before they will grant authority for the trucking company to operate.

WHAT COMPANIES ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE PROCESS AGENTS?

For-hire trucking companies, brokers and freight forwarders have always been required to have process agents before they are granted authority to operate.  As of September 30, 2016 private carriers are also required to have process agents on file with the FMCSA.

HOW DOES A TRUCKING COMPANY GET PROCESS AGENTS?

Since most trucking companies get authority to operate in all 50 states, there are companies like Trucker’s Nationwide, Inc. that have a “blanket coverage”.  The blanket coverage is a list of process agents, one in each state, which Trucker’s Nationwide will file with the FMCSA for the trucking company.  Trucker’s Nationwide files online with the FMCSA a BOC-3 form, which contains a listing of the process agents in each state.
